Meet the Doctor

Dr. Regina Ragasa is triple board-certified in Family Medicine, Lifestyle Medicine, and Obesity Medicine. She earned her medical degree from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and completed her Family Medicine residency through the Wright Center GME, affiliated with Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. She returned to her hometown in the San Fernando Valley to begin her career with SCPMG.

Frustrated by the progression of her patients’ chronic diseases, she was inspired by her colleague, Dr. Steven Lawenda, to pursue Lifestyle Medicine certification in 2020. Soon after, she counseled her first patient on a food-as-medicine approach—resulting in dramatic improvements in diabetes and weight loss within months. That success became the turning point of her career.

Since then, Dr. Ragasa has spearheaded patient education initiatives, including developing five plant-based programs in English and Spanish and personally teaching in both languages. In 2022, she became SCPMG Regional Co-Chair for Lifestyle Medicine, and in 2023, she was appointed Chief of Obesity Medicine at her medical center. She is passionate about empowering patients and colleagues to use lifestyle measures to reclaim their health.

In 2026, Dr. Ragasa opened Cali Wellness Direct Primary Care, where she provides personalized, preventive care through a membership-based model. Her mission is to extend her patients’ health span—not just their lifespan—so they can enjoy vibrant, fulfilling lives. By combining direct access, whole-person care, and evidence-based lifestyle strategies, she helps her patients achieve lasting health and vitality.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Ragasa is a proud mother of two young daughters and is grateful for the unwavering support of her husband, family, and friends.
