Simply put, DPC is a return to relationship-based medicine. Instead of the complicated fee-for-service model (co-pays, rushed visits, high charges), DPC uses a transparent monthly membership fee.
This model dramatically cuts down on wait times, reduces the cost burden of care, and allows you to build a strong, trusting relationship with your doctor through both in-person and virtual communication. It is a simpler, more accessible approach to healthcare.
-
No. Our care is provided solely through a monthly membership fee structure. We do not bill insurance companies or any third-party payers for our services.
This model frees us from the constraints of insurance billing and administrative burdens, allowing us to:
- Focus entirely on your care, maximizing quality and patient satisfaction.
- Provide transparent, cost-effective care without the interference of outside payers.
-
We believe healthcare decisions should revolve around an unrestricted partnership between the patient and the doctor, not be dictated by the cost, time, or rules of third-party payers or the fee-for-service model.
What sets us apart:
- Root Cause Treatment: We dedicate time to incorporate evidence-based lifestyle therapies to address the root cause of chronic conditions, rather than simply managing symptoms.
- Uninterrupted Focus: Our model allows us more time to deeply know you and your needs—a critical component for effective wellness planning, medical care, and chronic disease management.
- Evidence-Based Decisions: Medical decision-making is evidence-based and centered on you, your family, and your community, without external interference.
-
No. While Direct Primary Care (DPC) offers a concierge-level experience (including great access and unhurried visits), it is fundamentally different from traditional Concierge Medicine.
The key difference is billing:
- Concierge Medicine: Charges a high annual fee (often hundreds to thousands of dollars) in addition to still billing your insurance for every visit.
- Direct Primary Care (DPC): Operates on a single, transparent monthly membership fee that covers all primary care services, allowing us to completely bypass the complications of insurance billing for our services.

Same and next day appointments are available to members only.
-
Yes. Cali Wellness DPC is not a substitute for health insurance. We strongly recommend you maintain coverage (like catastrophic, high-deductible, or PPO plans) to cover large medical expenses outside of primary care, such as hospitalizations, surgeries, emergency visits, and specialist care.
-
Absolutely. The value of DPC extends far beyond treating illness. We design our care around wellness and prevention, aiming to be your partner in long-term health.
Even if you are rarely sick, you benefit from:
- Unburdened Access: Get simple questions answered quickly via text, email, or telehealth by a doctor who knows you, without the hassle of scheduling an office visit or paying a co-pay.
- Proactive Planning: Dedicated time for personalized wellness and prevention strategies.
- Streamlined Experience: When you do need an appointment, our schedules are accessible and the visits are never rushed, unlike the current fee-for-service model.

We ensure you have coverage for truly urgent medical needs.
- If you have an urgent concern that cannot safely wait until regular clinic hours, you will be provided with a direct method to contact me.
- For routine matters like medication refills, minor illnesses, or general scheduling questions, please contact the clinic at the start of the next business day.
-
Taking time for family vacations is essential for me to recharge and maintain my best health, which allows me to provide you with high-quality care. I strongly encourage you to prioritize time off for yourself, too!
How Coverage Works When I'm Away:
- I will always give you ample notice of my planned time away so you can schedule appointments or refill medications in advance.
- For shorter absences, I will remain virtually available for urgent issues.
- For longer vacations, I will arrange for a trusted covering physician to manage urgent calls when I am unavailable.
- The specific coverage details for each period will be clearly communicated before I leave.

Our philosophy is centered on relationship-based care, meaning our board-certified doctor limits her patient panel to guarantee every member receives the highest quality, most attentive service.
Membership is managed through monthly fees and can be canceled by the patient at any time (with one month notice), as outlined in the patient agreement.
To manage our limited capacity:
- There is a $200 re-enrollment fee for patients who wish to return.
- Patients are allowed to re-enroll only once, provided there is space available and the re-enrollment is approved by the Cali Wellness DPC team.
